Frequently asked questions
Therapy can sometimes be overwhelming or confusing, and that's completely normal. To assist you, we've compiled some information about the therapy process. Below are answers to some commonly asked questions about our approach, but please feel free to reach if you have any other inquiries.
What is counselling?
Counselling is a safe and confidential space to talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained professional.
It can help you:
-
Understand yourself more deeply
-
Process emotions or life experiences
-
Develop coping tools and strategies
-
Strengthen communication and relationships
-
Find more clarity, confidence, and calm
You don’t need to be in crisis to start counselling- It can also be a space for personal growth, reflection, and learning.

What can I talk about in counselling or therapy?
You can talk about anything that feels important to you. Common areas people seek support for include:
-
Anxiety, stress, or low mood
-
Body image and self-esteem concerns
-
Relationship or family difficulties
-
Life transitions and identity changes
-
Grief, loss, or burnout
-
Motivation, direction, or personal growth
There’s no “right” place to start — therapy begins wherever you are.
What’s the difference between a Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Counsellor, Psychologist, and Psychiatrist?

Each profession offers something a little different when it comes to supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Psychotherapists explore the deeper emotional experiences, patterns, and relationships that shape how you think, feel, and behave. Their work often focuses on self-understanding, healing, and long-term personal growth.
Social Workers take a holistic approach, looking at the whole picture — your relationships, environment, community, and daily life. In therapy, they often provide practical tools, coping strategies, and advocacy to help you strengthen wellbeing both emotionally and practically.
Counsellors provide a supportive space to explore challenges, process emotions, and build resilience. They use evidence-based therapies — such as CBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy — to help you make sense of what’s happening and find new ways forward.
Psychologists are trained in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. They often work with structured models of therapy, providing formal psychological assessments and reports.
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication. Some may also offer therapy, but their primary focus is on the medical and biological aspects of mental health.

What happens if I miss a session?

What is your Cancelation Policy?

She expects to gain accreditation and be able to offer rebates to clients in just under a year. In the meantime, sessions are kept as affordable as possible.
